Most travelers need a visa to enter Uganda. However, some countries are visa-exempt meaning their citizens can visit Uganda without a visa for a limited time. Uganda also offers different types of visas for tourists, business people and others.

Uganda Visa Exempt Countries

If you are from one of these countries, you do not need a visa to visit Uganda:

Kenya

Tanzania

Rwanda

Burundi

South Sudan

Zimbabwe

Zambia

Malawi

Eritrea

Angola

Comoros

These countries are part of regional agreements or have special arrangements with Uganda. Citizens of these countries can enter Uganda with just a valid passport.

How to Get a Visa

If you are not from a visa-exempt country, you can apply for a visa online or at the Ugandan embassy in your country. Uganda also offers a visa on arrival at Entebbe International Airport but it is easier to apply online before your trip.

The most common visa is the Tourist Visa which allows you to stay in Uganda for up to 90 days. You can also get the East African Tourist Visa which lets you visit Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda with one visa.

Requirements for a Uganda Visa

To apply for a visa, you need:

A valid passport (at least 6 months before it expires)

A recent passport photo

A visa application form

Payment for the visa fee (usually $50 for a single-entry visa)

Conclusion

Before visiting Uganda, check if you need a visa and apply early if required. Uganda welcomes everyone to explore its culture, wildlife, and natural beauty. For more information, visit the official Uganda immigration website(https://visas.immigration.go.ug/) or contact a Ugandan embassy near you.
