Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Your journey begins early in the morning as our professional driver-guide picks you up from your location in Kampala or Entebbe. After a short briefing, you’ll set off on a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through Uganda’s lush countryside. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant or enjoy a packed meal, depending on the schedule. Upon arrival at the park, you’ll check in at Songbird Safari Lodge, where you can relax and take in the stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. If time allows, you can opt for an evening game drive to spot some of the park’s wildlife or simply unwind at the lodge.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
Start your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in the park. This is your chance to spot the famous Big Four, including lions, elephants, and buffalos, as well as other animals like hyenas, bushbucks, kobs, and waterbucks. The park’s diverse landscape provides a perfect backdrop for wildlife photography.
In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. This is one of the highlights of the safari, offering close encounters with hippos, crocodiles, and herds of elephants and buffalos along the shores. Bird enthusiasts will also enjoy spotting species like pelicans, cormorants, and the rare shoebill.

Day 3: Game Drive in Ishasha Sector

Keep your camera ready, as you might spot these majestic predators lounging on fig tree branches. Apart from lions, Ishasha is home to other wildlife, including topis, elephants, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a full day exploring this unique part of the park before returning to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Visit Twin Lakes and Kyambura Underground Forest
On this day, you’ll visit the Twin Lakes of Katwe and Nyamunuka, two crater lakes located within the park. These lakes are not only scenic but also rich in history and cultural significance. Lake Katwe, in particular, is known for its traditional salt mining activities, which you can learn about during your visit. Later, you’ll explore the Kyambura Gorge, often referred to as the “underground forest.” This lush, forested valley is home to a variety of primates, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and baboons. A guided nature walk through the gorge offers a chance to experience its unique ecosystem and spot some of its inhabitants.
