5 Days Bwindi & Lake Bunyonyi Safari

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Begin your scenic journey to the southwest through Uganda’s countryside with a stop at the Equator for photos and souvenirs, then continue to Mbarara for lunch before proceeding through rolling hills and terraced farmlands of Kigezi. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for check-in, dinner, and relaxation.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Wake up early for a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.

Begin your unforgettable trek through thick forest in search of one of Bwindi’s gorilla families. The trek may take 2–8 hours, depending on their location.

Once you find them, spend a magical hour observing their behavior and taking photos.

Return to your lodge for lunch and rest. In the evening, you may visit a nearby Batwa community to learn about their traditional lifestyle.

Day 3: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, set off for Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most picturesque lakes, dotted with 29 small islands. The journey takes 3–4 hours through lush highlands. Arrive in time for lunch and check into your lakeside lodge. Spend the afternoon relaxing, swimming, or taking a canoe ride as you enjoy the cool breeze and scenic views.

Day 4: Explore Lake Bunyonyi

Enjoy breakfast overlooking the calm waters. Take a guided boat trip to explore the lake’s famous islands, including Punishment Island and Bushara Island, each with unique stories. You may also visit local communities, go bird watching, or relax at your lodge. The peaceful setting offers a perfect way to unwind after gorilla trekking.

Day 5: Return to Kampala

After breakfast, check out and start your journey back to Kampala with an en-route lunch in Mbarara. Expect to arrive in the evening for drop-off at your hotel or Entebbe Airport.
